Davao Butterfly House 2016

Davao Crocodile Park is a zoo which can be found in a 10 hectare area located at Diversion Road, Ma-a. It's been in operation since 1995, and up to this date it still is alive and kicking.

I actually wanted to visit the place last month but we didn't have time and money. Hahaha. So, I thought of having our little celebration this month here. But before proceeding, I did my research about the fees. We decided to meet at lunch time at my house which was just a few kilometers away. After lunch, we bought food from the near grocery store and off we went at around 1:45 PM. Since the place was just near and we were riding a motorcycle, we reached the place before 2:00 PM. We bought two tickets, each ticket costs Php 250.00. If you come by 3:00 PM, you'll be paying Php 300.00, so better come earlier.

For Php 250.00, you get to visit three areas: Butterfly House, Crocodile Park and Tribu K'Mindawan. The first stop we went to was the Butterfly House, it's a few meters away from the Crocodile Park. But first, let us take a selfie. :)

 We realized the place was quite far from the point of origin and it was hot so I asked him to take the parked motorcycle so we can ride it, instead of walking.

There are plenty of plants in the place but we only saw a few butterflies, maybe because it was hot. :p

This used to have plenty of carps before, now it still has carps but not as many and mud fish (as in Lapu-Lapu. :)

The place also has a playground for kids, some birds at the back area and nursery for plants. We didn't see so much in the place though. :)

How to get to the place:
Taxi - the easiest transportation mode from any point in Davao City
Commute - First, you need to get to the Ecoland Transport Terminal, or you can wait in front if SM City Ecoland near BPI, wait for a bus bound for Davao del Norte, it could be Tagum, Mati, Surigao, Baganga, as long as it passes through Buhangin or Ma-a (fare Php 10.00). Get off at Davao Crocodile Park Complex. Walk a lot of kilometers to get inside the park, or find a motorcyle to take you there.
