Hagimit Falls 2016

Image
My boyfriend and I love to travel and discover places, despite the lack of money. If we're not travelling, we go food tripping. So, on his birthday, we planned to go somewhere he has never been to which is near the city and affordable. Since I'm not really a fan of the sea because it's salty, I always liked falls. And because he has never been to Hagimit Falls, we decided to give it a go.  I've been to Hagimit Falls back in 2014 with my classmates. We used our classmate's car back then so I'm not really familiar with commuting to get to the area which we are going to do because we don't have a car. To get to the place, we first google how to get there. According to one blog we read, we can ride a bus to PeƱaplata, Samal Island and ride a habal-habal to get to Hagimit Falls. So we did. We left at 8:00 A.M. from our house which is situated in Maa, Davao City. We rode a jeepney which took us to Magsaysay. We arrived at the terminal at 8:40. The termina...

LaSwitan | Cortes, Surigao Del Sur

Image
Just when we thought that Surigao is just made up of beautiful beaches, caves and falls.. We found something extraordinary. Our driver during the Sohoton Trip told us that we could take a look at a place called LaSwitan. To my curiosity, I took a look at it on YouTube and found this. The waves of the Pacific Ocean slaps the large rocks and the water is caught inside like a basin and forms a pool. Amazing, isn't it? So from Hayanggabon Port, we had lunch and at around 2 PM we took the journey to Cortes. From Cortes, we rode a muddy and rocky 7 km road to LaSwitan. Unfortunately, we weren't able to reach it in High tide. So we didn't witness what can be seen in the video. :( So we took photos and climbed the rocks instead. By the way, what we did was actually not allowed. We didn't know it was illegal until we were done with it. Hehehe. It was scary though. The rocks are very sharp and slippery, if you fall on the other side, there's  a chance you might no...

Bucas Grande, Surigao del Norte 2016

Image
We've seen plenty of photos about Bucas Grande or Sohoton Cove. We wanted to visit the place so bad. We even watched videos on Youtube about the place, read blogs and facebook posts to prepare for it financially. And finally, last Sunday, we did! Here's what happened. We we're a total of 24 pax in the tour. So, we had to book two vans. Each van costs 4,500 per day. Standard rate for the van is Php 3, 500 but because the destination is pretty far from Davao City, it's more expensive. We planned for a 2 day tour which costed both vans Php 8,000 plus crude oil (Budget for crude was Php 6,000 for both vans). We also brought food and water for two days, appliances like heater and butane stove. We brought our own water because we aren't sure of the quality of water in the island (better to be safe than sorry). Planned jump-off time from Davao City was 1:00 AM but we had to pass by different areas of the city to pick up the others before we finally took off. A...
