BuDa Tour 2018

Are you looking for a place away from the busy hustle and bustle of the Davao City? Are you looking for a place to cool down and chill? Thinking about going to Baguio City? Look no further! Davao City's own version of Baguio is just an hour away from the heart of Davao City. What's in there to explore? Plenty actually. And here are just a few of the spots you can visit in Davao City's version of Baguio.
We took the tour on a holiday, during the Lunar New Year last February 16. We took of from UM Matina Campus at around 3:30 AM. We weren't really sure of our itinerary since our company just aims to explore BuDa.

We reached our first stop at around 4:30 AM. We were there to wait for sunrise. There's this sea of clouds which can be seen in the place. Something we don't see everyday, right? The name of the resort is Sonnenberg Mountain View (not sure though, but I'm sure of the Sonnenberg). It has been featured in local and national TV shows. It is said to be owned by an OFW working in Germany, which is where I think the name of the resort came from, and a seaman. Sonnenberg can be translated to Sun Mountain. Indeed, the place has a picturesque view of the sunrise along with the sea of clouds. Making you feel like you're in Kiltepan.

Entrance fee to the place is Php 50.00. If you only want to take pictures. They also have a swimming pool and a rest house. A friendly advise would be to visit the place during non holiday or weekdays. The place is quite small and can get crowded during peak times. To enjoy the place best, visit it during off peak season.

The sea of clouds and a glimpse of the sea of people. Hehehe.

Our next stop is Bemwa Farm. I was looking forward to visit the place because of strawberries! As a girl living in a tropical country, strawberries really excite me. To my dismay, their strawberries withered prior to our visit and they had to plant new ones. :( But hey it's just an hour away, I can always visit the place again if opportunity permits. :)

The entrance fee to Bemwa Farm is Php 50.00. This entrance fee is consumable. You can buy lettuce from their market. Their lettuce is delicious and fresh, all you need is just mayo and you're good to go. You can also buy from their canteen/cafe. They have rice cakes and hot choco/coffee available. They also have strawberry taho for only Php 30.00. It's a wide place you can take pictures like you're in Baguio. ;)

The group originally planned to go to Captain's Heaven, Gethsemane and Hillsview Villa. Unfortunately, these places are hard to reach for vehicles which are not designed for rough and slippery roads. It rained the night before our visit making the road slippery and wet. The road also is uneven with large holes. I heard the vehicle chink and clunk during the drive. It is also near a cliff which makes the journey more difficult. Our driver decided not to push through. We later on discovered that the area can be accessed by van tours customers though skylab. Skylab is a motorcyle with an attached seats on both sides. This is commonly seen on remote areas. Skylab fare for the destinations starting from Bemwa is Php 170.00, back and forth.

We made a detour and opt to visit Seagull Mountain Resort. This has been featured on my blog. Their entrance rate has increased to Php 200.00. :)

After our tour, we went back to Davao City and shopped some vegetables along the road. Their vegetables are cheaper compared to what can be found on the local market. Tip: Prices are cheaper when you buy from the stalls compared from persons coming to your vehicle ;)
