Tagaytay + EK Trip 2015 Part One

Last September,  Cebu Pacific had a promo for most of their flights. So, I booked a flight for myself, my boyfriend, and my best friend to have a short vacation before the semester starts. I have been to Manila last May and I found it a very expensive destination. We decided to choose destinations near Manila instead. At first, we chose Baguio because of its popularity and reading through blogs, I thought it would be not-so-expensive destination but due to the floods brought by Lando and our short stay plus long travel time from Manila, we opted for a nearer destination. We decided to go for Tagaytay and then head to Nuvali and Enchanted Kingdom.

Day 0: November 5, 2015
Our flight is at 9:00 PM from Davao City, ETA at Manila is 11:00 PM (which is pretty late). We waited for a jeepney that will take us to Pasay Rotunda, unfortunately, we weren't able to ride one because we were confused on which side of the road can we ride the jeepney (Hahaha!). We took a taxi instead, one taxi offered to take us there at Php 200.00, we didn't take it, we found it expensive. The next taxi we found had the fare metered, and you know how much we paid? Just Php 92.50. We ate at Jollibee and after that we caught a bus with the signage MIA, we paid Php 12.00 each, and stopped at Uniwide Coastal Mall to catch another bus to Tagaytay.

We waited for almost an hour before the bus came, and another hour for the trip to start at about 2:00 AM. The bus arrived at Olivarez at around 3:00 AM. Our contact for our accommodation came to fetch us in front of KFC around 5 minutes later.

We were brought to our room, fixed out things and slept.

Day 1: November 6, 2015
We woke up at 7:00 AM, prepared for the journey for an hour and headed out at 8:00 AM to have breakfast. We went to Olivarez Plaza to have breakfast at McDonalds. We ordered pancakes, chicken fillet, and one piece chicken. I didn't like their food though. We went back to the Apartelle because my best friend forgot some of her stuff. We went to catch a bus for our first destination: Calaruega! :)

Calaruega is actually not part of Tagaytay it is part of Batangas but it is worth the visit. From Olivarez Plaza, we caught a bus to Nasugbu, Batangas and told the conductor to drop us at Evercrest. We paid Php 46.00 each for the fare.

Tricycles are waiting at Evercrest to take you to Calaruega, we paid Php 20.00 each. And had the driver's number to take us back when we return.

At Calaruega, we paid Php 30.00 for a fee, we also got this:

Inside Calaruega:
One of the stations of the cross.
Close to nature, closer to God.
Directions to some attractions of Calaruega.
The Koi Pond.

She found her crush's heart. Hahaha!

Calaruega has other attractions but we didn't visit it anymore because we were hungry. We called Kuya Sammy, the driver, to fetch us and headed to Evercrest. At Evercrest, we rode a jeepney and asked the driver to take us to Mahogany Market but he said the he could only pass by the crossing where we could ride another jeepney to Mahogany Market.
We ate at Len's. We ordered a special bulalo good for 3-4 persons and 3 cups of rice for each of us. They also have unlimited banana at the Mahogany Market.
 Picture before eating.
 My serving of Bulalo.
Heater to keep the soup hot in the cold Tagaytay weather.
My boyfriend's masterpiece after consuming the bulalo and the banana.
The aftermath.
We paid Php 520.00 for everything we ordered: Bulalo, 3 cups of rice + 1 and 1/2 cup (because we loved the food. :)) and 1.5 Liter of Sprite. I really loved the bulalo in Tagaytay, if there's one thing I would want to go back to Tagaytay, it would be their bulalo.
