Seagull Mountain Resort 2016

Davao City is famous for its location being one ride away to well known beaches and resorts and fast growing downtown area but aside from these Davao City also has its own little Baguio where you can experience cold temperature, trek mountains, chase falls and even pick strawberries. This part of Davao City is called Marilog District where you can find many resorts to stay if you can to have a quiet resting place away from the city.
One of the well known resorts in the area is Seagull Mountain Resort. It's a 1-2 hour ride from the city proper. It is located at the Bukidnon-Davao (Buda) Road. It's a great place to spend time with your loved ones or even by yourself. I have been here three times: 2014 with my TCPNEP friends, 2016 with my workmates and recently, last new year with my boyfriend's family .
During my first time in the place, we stayed overnight and rented their tents at the campsite. Their tents are made of concrete walls and a roof shaped like a tent. It didn't have beds so we slept at the floor with a thin comforter beneath us. The rent was Php 700.00 good for 3-4 people.
With my TCPNEP friends dining outside our tent..
My second visit was with my workmates. We had to prioritize comfort over budget. So we rented two of the houses which had its own comfort rooms and bathrooms. They also had beds good for 6 people  for each house. It was a lot more comfortable than my first visit. You can really feel the vacation mood with the house.
This is inside on of the houses with our very own kitchen were we stayed to eat and drink.
A very relaxing view outside our rented place.
My third visit was just a day tour and it was raining and it was really cold. When staying and renting for either their tents at the campsite or their houses, you don't need to pay for the entrance fee but for day tours, you need to pay Php 200.00 per pax (used to be Php 150.00).
Our photo at the entrance, waiting for the shuttle service.
Seagull Mountain Resort has plenty of amenities to enjoy. They have their waterfalls which you can either trek from the entrance for about 10-20 minutes or you can take their L300 van shuttle service.
At their old shuttle service.
These are the photos I took during my visits.

It's very cold down there but its worth taking the dip. #thecoldneverbotheredmeanyway
Their 5 1/2 feet pool near the falls. They also have a kiddie sized pool for kids.

All the fats in his body and he still feels cold. Hahaha. JK.
A grotto at the shuttle service waiting area.
Tables where you can eat while watching the people and the scene or after swimming.

If you don't like swimming near the falls, you can opt to swim at their swimming pool.
We found the pool a little cute though.

Picture picture at the pool :D
They also have cute spots where you can take photos, perfect for selfie mode, or just taking a relaxing stroll.

They have sculptures of cows and horses which you can ride on. They also have a playground for kids and a very large cross which is also a trademark of the resort.

The visit in the resort won't be complete without eating their trademark chocolate and suman which can be bought at their cafe near the gasoline station. My grand aunt visit this place just to eat this.
Yummy. :)

Happy kiddo. :)
How to get here:
  • You can take you private vehicle or rent a private van for Php 3,500 per day which can take you to and from the resort and you can travel comfortably. From the city proper you need to travel south and turn right to take the BuDa road. You can easily spot the resort because it's just on the left side of the highway about 1-2 hrs travel.
  • You can take a public utility bus and jump off at the resort. This option is budget friendly but can also be difficult on your way back home because buses coming from this area are usually non-stop buses.
What to bring:
  • It would be better if you can bring your own food and drinks if you wish to stay here for a day tour or overnight to save money.
  • Camera
  • Jacket
  • Blankets
  • Money

I have been to the place three times in three different years and I still would like to come back.
